Rouzan’s ground work to begin early next year
14 November 2008 - Baton Rouge The Advocate
"Ground work is set to begin in the first three months of 2009 on Rouzan, the traditional neighborhood development on Perkins Road near College Drive.Developer Tommy Spinosa said Thursday that, though some final details still must be worked out, the first phase of construction will include 30,000 square feet of commercial, retail and multi-family residential among three buildings, as well as a new public library branch and 46 residential units."

Planning panel OKs first phase of Rouzan

"By a 7-1 vote, the city-parish Planning Commission gave final approval for Spinosa’s first-phase plan to build 179 residential units and 40,360 square feet of commercial development on 19 acres. Spinosa plans to eventually develop 750 residential units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space on the 119-acre tract." -

Southside Civic Association Attempting to Stop the Southdowns Public Library?
30 April 2008 - John Berry, Acting President of the Southside Civic Association, appears to be trying to stop the Public Library planned for the Southdowns area in Rouzan. Southside Civic Association board member Alexis St. Amant's attempt to recall Metro Council member Mickey Skyring fails getting less than 1/6th of the districts registered voters signatures. -
Two Opposition Lawyers File Lawsuit

Two lawyers Alexis St. Amant and Robert Roland, who are both board members of the Southside Civic Association, file a lawsuit against the rezoning of Rouzan. Prior to rezoning approval, the Parish Attorney assures that the concerns associated with this lawsuit had been addressed. -
